The second edition of Tamaha Food Race attracted a total of 96 participants from all over Kota Kinabalu.
Organised by Sri Pelancongan Sabah Sdn. Bhd., the food race was flagged off by Mr William Baya, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment Sabah, on 30th March, at 9:00am, at Sabah Tourism Board. Also present were Puan Suzaini Datuk Sabdin Ghani, General Manager of Sabah Tourism Board, Zachary Mobijohn, General Manager of Sri Pelancongan Sabah Sdn Bhd, and Puan Noredah Othman, Deputy General Manager of Sabah Tourism Board.
24 Tamaha Food Race teams were seen going around Kota Kinabalu and Penampang area in search of clues and challenges located in 10 pit stops, including Little Sulap, Aurora Cinnamon Rolls, Kadaiku Souvenirs and Handicrafts, Santan AirAsia, Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa, Warung Kepayan, Outskirts Eatery, Koisaan Cultural Village (KDCA), Souled Out Kota Kinabalu, Cafe BBQ Chicken, Kota Kinabalu Marriott Hotel, and Karamell Almondo. The teams took about six hours to complete their challenge. The winners are:
The winners walked away with a cash prize of RM 1000.00, a 3D2N stay at Manukan Island and return tickets for four from Kota Kinabalu to Kuala Lumpur for four pax; 1st runner-up won a cash prize of RM 600.00 and a 2D1N stay at Nepenthes Villa, Kinabalu Park for four pax; and the 2nd runner-up received a cash prize of RM400.00 and a 2D1N stay at River Lodge, Poring Hot Springs for four pax.

This food race was held on in conjunction with the Sabah Tourism Board’s Lampoopalooza celebration, a light art installation,marking the 101st anniversary of the building held on April 5th.
