When you think of a restaurant named Kak Syah, you would imagine a Malay mak cik manning the entire restaurant, right? Wrong! Kak Syah is owned by Ken Wom, a Chinese businessman who believes that Halal food is the future of the food and beverages industry. The real “Kak Syah” is actually Adik Syah, Ken’s former helper who first helped him launch his Lau Poh Tau Foo Fah brand.
Kak Syah offers amazing Malay Fusion cuisine. Our personal favourite is the Sambal Spaghetti! It doesn’t sound like a combination that goes together, but we assure you that their sambal aroma will leave you salivating even before you dig into the dish!
Another dish to try is the Black Pepper Lamb Shoulder. We should warn you that this dish is not meant for those on a diet because their juicy lamb portion is big enough to be shared by two! But if you’d like to finish it on your own, why not?
The large space in Kak Syah has a private section in the far corner of the restaurant, decorated with a more traditional layout. It can accommodate private parties or functions for up to 50 people.
