The PADI Advanced Open Water course covers underwater phenomena, diving procedures, diving environment and deep diving procedures. It consists of two core and three elective dives.
The two core dives are Navigation and Deep Dive and the elective dives are Fish Identification, Peak Performance Buoyancy and Boat Diver.

Itinerary
Day 1
08:30: Meet Downbelow staff at the jetty and transfer by boat to Downbelow Dive Centre on Gaya Island.
09:15: Meet your instructor for course introduction and registration arrangement.
13:00: Vegetarian buffet lunch at our dive centre.
14:00: PADI course.
16:00: Boat transfer to marina. Make your own way to Downbelow Eco Lodge (KK Times Square) and check-in.
Day 2
08:30: Meet Downbelow staff at the jetty and transfer by boat to Downbelow Dive Centre on Gaya Island.
09:15: PADI course.
13:00: Vegetarian buffet lunch at our dive centre.
14:00: PADI course.
16:00: Awarded successful certification followed by boat transfer back to marina. Make your own way back to the lodge.
Day 3
12:00: Check-out from Downbelow Eco Lodge.

A one-night stay in an air-conditioned private room with en-suite bathroom located at the heart of Kota Kinabalu Times Square to accommodate you and your travelling partner!

After your sessions, you can have a relaxing rest by the island or take a stroll along the beach. You can join other sessions available, such as snorkeling or go for another dive session.

- You can fly to Kota Kinabalu (BKI) direct from Kuala Lumpur (KUL).

- Divers must show proof of current PADI Open Water qualification or equivalent. Ensure you are “Fit to Dive” by completing the medical form. Any “YES” answer will require a doctor to complete the form.
- Due to the course being performance based, finishing times may vary due to individual achievements. Additional charges may apply should a student diver need an extra day to complete the performance requirements to certify.
