Tambunan is located in the interior division of Sabah and is also the capital of the Tambunan district. The distance between Kota Kinabalu and Tambunan town is 75 kilometres apart. Tambunan is a town where it’s filled with terraced paddy fields as the main source of income there is dominated by rice production.
Itinerary
Day 1
06:00: Arrival of participants / Registration – Inobong Sub-station
07:00: Briefing / Start trekking (Inobong Village – Terian Village, 10KM est. 7 hours trek)
12:00: Lunch, enroute
13:00: Continue trek
16:00: ETA at Terian Village. Settle down at camp site, set up tent / sleeping areas, guest free at leisure.
18:00: Dinner at camp site (Prepared by intructors / guide)
20:00: Briefing / games
21:00: Rest and recreation
Day 2
06:00: Wake up / Clean up and pack up
07:00: Breakfast
08:00: Continue trek (Terian Village – Buayan Village – Kionop Village, 13 KM est. 8 hours trek)
12:00: Lunch, enroute
13:00: Continue trek
17:00: ETA at Kionop Village, settle down at camp site and set up tent / sleeping areas. Guest free at leisure.
19:00: Dinner at camp site (prepared by instructors / guides)
20:00: Briefing / games
21:00: Rest and recreation
Day 3
06:00: Wake up / Clean up and pack up
07:00: Breakfast
08:00: Continue trek (Kionop Village – Melungung Village, 11 KM est. 7 hours trek)
11:00: Lunch at local restaurant
12:00: Transfer back to Kota Kinabalu / Hotel (est. 2 hours)

Arrival by flights
You can fly to Kota Kinabalu International Airport (BKI) direct from Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, Labuan, Sandakan or Tawau.
Arrival by land
You can travel to Kota Kinabalu by Taxi from Kota Kinabalu International Airport (approx. 14 minutes) and by Bus from Sandakan (approx. 6 hours), from Tawau (approx. 8 hours).
You can travel to Tambunan from Kota Kinabalu City (approx. 2 hours).
