Tempurung Cafe, Gaya Street

Rain or shine, there’s always blue skies at Tempurung Cafe, famous for their Signature Tempurung Coconut Ice Cream. You can either choose from two scoops or four scoops with toppings of your choice! There are a variety of toppings to select but peanuts and pineapples are a crowd favourite! Your ice-cream dessert will be served with a fresh blend of Pandan Coconut water. It is equally as delicious!

For coffee lovers, the Coconut Affogato is the perfect way to celebrate your love for coffee. It contains a double shot of espresso drowning a scoop of the rich and creamy coconut ice cream.

To beat the Sabah heat, we highly recommend the variety of coconut smoothies to quench your thirst – Pineapple, Pure Coconut, Papaya, Tropical Fruits, Papaya, Watermelon, coffee, and Milo. All smoothies are made of pure coconut water and Sabah local fruits.

If you need more than just dessert, this quaint cafe also serves Nasi Lemak, Rendang, and Nachos Wraps.

FUN FACT: Tempurung Cafe uses the shell of the coconut, also known as “tempurung” in the local language, as a bowl to serve your ice cream. As a part of their community service, the coconut shells are sourced from low-income families from as far as Keningau, Tuaran, and Kota Belud. A part of the training also ensures the villagers learn proper standards of health and cleanliness in the process of cleaning the tempurung.
