Layang Layang Island is an oceanic atoll and an exotic island situated in the middle of South China Sea approximately 300 km northwest of Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia. It is truly diver’s paradise and fondly known as “The Jewel of the Borneo Banks”. Layang Layang island lies in 2,000m of ocean and due partly to the depth, this atoll has become famous for sightings of large pelagic species and for wall diving. It is an hour flight North of Sabah’s capital, Kota Kinabalu.

Layang Layang Island Resort is One Island One Dive Resort and it requires a return flight from Kota Kinabalu. There are 86 air-conditioned standard rooms comes with its own fridge, TV and private veranda. The resort was designed to look like a Longhouse, the traditional community home of Borneo’s tribal people. The resort also provide equipment rental service and a swimming pool that seems to merge with the sea in the background, which is a great spot to cool down, read a book or chill with a drink.

You can fly to Kota Kinabalu International Airport (BKI) direct from Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, Labuan, Sandakan or Tawau.
Arrival by land
You can travel to Kota Kinabalu by Taxi from Kota Kinabalu International Airport (approx. 14 minutes) and by Bus from Sandakan (approx. 6 hours), from Tawau (approx. 8 hours).
In lieu of the Covid-19 pandemic, you can opt to postpone your trip once it is safe to travel again. Kindly contact the property owner for more information.
After commencement of service no refund in part or full, will be made (in cash equivalent or vacation price reduction) for unused services/activity for voluntary modifications made by the traveler, where a guest fails to complete a dive, dive course or fails to participate in pre-booked or packaged activities for any reason (including ill health) or free choice, they will still be charged for the package.
No refund can be made in respect of accommodation, meals, transportation or any other services that are included in the package not utilized.
In the event of any tour cancellations after deposit and/or full payments have been made, the following cancellation charges shall be applicable.
Cancellation of tour arrangements before departure:
Cancellation Fee : 50% of dive package per person per booking applies.
Cancellation of tour arrangements less than 90 days before departure:
Cancellation Fee: 100% of dive package per person per booking
Calculation of refund will be based on invoice value only.
100% cancellation charge for NO SHOW.

Layang Layang Island Resort reserves the right to alter or cancel any itinerary or tours due to adverse weather conditions or unforeseen operational conditions.
Layang Layang Island Resort shall not be liable nor responsible for any cancellation or changes in scheduled flights or missed connections due to whatsoever reason. Hence, purchase of travel insurance is essential to avoid financial losses.
All return connecting flight should be after 1230 noon arrival from Layang Layang Island.
